The Anla-Shok, also know as Rangers, are an elite force of Minbari, eventually joined by Humans, and later by other races, who are the front lines of defense against the Shadows, their allies, and after the formation of the Interstellar Allinace, the Alliance's police force. They were formed by Valen over a thousand years ago. During the time of Babylon 5, they started out as forward observers, waiting and watching for the return of the Shadows. Soon after the Shadows had returned, Humans joined the Rangers and they became the front lines of defense against them.
