My Design Philosophy:

There has been a lot of discussion on the various Hero forums about damage levels, energy output, projectile velocity, cross-genres, etc. in the Hero System since Star Hero and The Ultimate Vehicle were released. Most of it has focused on two of Hero's main limitations: (paraphrase) the ability to simulate large scale damage and damage inflicted/resisted vs. technology advances (i.e. the High Tech vs. Low Tech argument).

So you know where I'm coming from as I do the write-ups for the ships, I've adhered to the standard Hero 5th Ed. rules, as well as the guidelines from Star Hero and The Ultimate Vehicle. I have refrained from making any 'house rule' modifications as I design the ships. I also did not sweat the small stuff. An example would be pilot restraint harnesses. We know they were there. According the The Ultimate Vehicle, they provide a few extra points of PD vs. crash/impact damage. If enough ask, or I think about it later, I may create a generic "Everyship" equipment list.

More importantly, I did not worry about point costs. Since I intended Babylon 5 Hero to be a non-supers genre, as they say on Who's Line, the points don't matter. The most important thing to keep in mind, though, is that these ships are designed and balanced against each other. I did not worry about taking them into a Pulp game, or if Superman can take out a Vorlon Light Cruiser or visa versa, or if an Omega Class Destroyer can take on the Enterprise (not that I'm not curious, mind you). If you want to do that, feel free to make whatever mods you desire (let me know how it turns out though).

If you see something that does not look right, or is plain wrong (I list 20 guns and there should be 30), please feel free to let me know. My email inbox is always open. I am also happy to entertain questions like why I did something the way I did it, and that sort of thing.

Finally, as I continue to build the entire roster of ships, please note that existing ships may get frequent updates and changes as I go through the list.

* Most files are .hdz files - HD package files that include the custom vehicle template that includes INT and PRE since for simplicity's sake I've tried to incorporate the ship's computer into the ship's HD file.
