What kind of Traveller Hero game do you run?

Postby Eodin » Wed Mar 26, 2008 5:45 pm

For those who run a Traveller HERO game (or a Travelleresque game using HERO), what type of game do you run?
  • Frontier (eg Spinward Marches/Firefly) or HighTech (eg Old Expanses/Solomani
  • Classic Traveller or The New Era/Out Of The Darkness
  • Merchant, Military, or Other
  • Psionics or no

Are there any books with some kind of Traveller HERO information that would be beneficial for you? such as some of the suggestions from the HERO Games board - ship books with deckplans, an entire system with a firefly feel fleshed out (ie Gazeteer), a gadgets book, a campaign book (like the old Traveller Adventure book), etc. ?

Currently I'm running a Frontier type game set in the year 1250. We're on the trailing side of the new 4th Imperium (the County of Ukse from the published source material). The main goal of the group is to help expand the County by searching for lost/buried tech, etc. Their main focus lately has been tracking down a large Vampire ship - which they finally found. Now they have to figure out what to do about it.

As far as new source material goes, I'd prefer Gazeteer type stuff. Second would be gear books. I think there are enough ship resources out there. Of course, that opinion would probably be different if I was running a different game :) Oh, actually, the one thing I would love to see would be the definitive Traveller Tech Manual, similar to this: http://www.freelancetraveller.com/featu ... index.html but of course all inclusive.
